Hacked By Imam with Love
Readers Theater Plus presented a check for $11,311.00 to KSQM radio in Sequim on Tuesday, October 29th. The contribution from RT+ represents all of the proceeds collected during last month’s presentation of “A Century of Sequim” Readers Theater Plus performances and auction. KSQM deeply appreciates the partnership with Readers Theater. The funds are earmarked for the KSQM transmission tower project.
KSQM’S 5TH ANNUAL PET LOVERS WEEK
The 5th Annual KSQM’s Pet Lover’s Week. August 5th – 11th. For every $10 donated to KSQM during this week, one pound of animal supplies will be given to local area pet agencies providing pet adoption services. This year KSQM will be able to donate over 400 pounds of pet supplies to four local agencies: the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society, Center Valley Animal Rescue, Peninsula Friends of Animals, and WAG (Welfare for Animals Guild).
The week’s broadcast featured pet music, stories, memories and informational spots. Listeners were invited to bring their pets to the Studio for a “tour and a treat” and to PET DAY celebration at Petco on Saturday August 10th.
KSQM ED/GM Bob Schilling and Mojo, the mascot of KSQM, were on hand to welcome the hundreds attending the “KSQM’s Pet Day” Event at Petco, which featured over 20 pet friendly booths, and a variety of pet and animal attractions and demonstrations.
Almost 150 hot dog plates, as well as other refreshments were served to the happy pet loving crowd as all enjoyed the pet attractions and demonstrations including:
- Miriam Rose and Northwest Noseworks
- Peninsula Therapeutic Riding with their petting zoo, saddling demo and goat wrestling
- Deb Cox and Puppy Pilots
- Shelly Denton of Country Paws with her “Dog Dancing”
- Sequim Animal Hospital provided micro-chipping
Other entertainment was provided by local guitarist/singer/composer Luke Meeker (sound system provided by Owen Blake).
A host of KSQM volunteers helped make this year’s PET DAY a huge success. A special thanks goes to Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club for providing the demonstration rink again this year, Petco for providing the venue and kind hospitality, and the KSQM Hot Dog Slingers.
Over 42 local businesses and agencies came together to support this 5th annual KSQM Pet Lovers Week. Mark your calendar for next year’s Pet Day which promises to be bigger and better.
Dear KSQM Listeners,
There is a golden opportunity for KSQM lovers and business owners alike. On Saturday June 22nd from 9am-3pm we are going to kick a little style into an On-Air Tower Fun-Drive.
Bling, Beauty, Baked Goods and we are looking for a lot more ideas. GREAT NEWS!!! All proceeds from the booths at KSQM Studios on that day will go towards building the new Transmission Facility.
So how can you get some publicity for your business, or just come help your community radio?
Two GREAT ways:
- Have a booth at our station on that Saturday and have the proceeds go to KSQM (sales, raffles, drawings). Who can resist a bake sale? We are sure to be talking about who is here over the air!
- Donate an item to the station to be used as a gift to donors! We will be mentioning your business name over the air and listing you on our web site! Gift Certificates or Gift Cards and/or items unique to your business are needed and will be most welcome. How fun for our listeners and donors!
Booth space is, of course, limited and reservations are required. Some indoor space is available. For more information please contact me by June 19th. Suggestions welcome but time is limited! Let’s get that Tower Built and have some fun!

It’s delightful, it’s delicious, it’s Fresh Mix Grill’s Crazy Sauce on pulled pork. Saturday the 4th of May at the community picnic at Carrie Blake Park in Sequim, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy KSQM hot dogs or sandwiches from Fresh Mix Grill. You will be helping to raise funds to keep your hometown radio, alive and kickin’! You can save dollars by purchasing presale tickets for a meal deal, on sale now at KSQM studios and at Fresh Mix Grill which is located just east of the co-op. And if you bring a friendly, live, 4 legged piggy on a leash, KSQM will give you a free sandwich, but be ready to pose for a picture! See you there!
