Dorothy Zapata Announcer, Producer
KSQM Volunteer Since 2008
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Dorothy moved to California in the late ‘60’s where she started her thirty year career at Lockheed-Martin. After retiring, Dorothy and her husband, Izzy, moved to Sutter Creek, CA, where they built their dream retirement home. Four years of hot summers persuaded them to consider a move to Sequim, WA. Dorothy has found enjoyment in volunteering after retirement which brought her to KSQM Radio as an announcer. She created “Dorothy’s Doo-Wop Drive-In” and loves anything R&B, rock & roll and soul. Dorothy trains volunteers in announcing and recording. “Life is good, and we feel blessed to be able to enjoy our retirement in such a beautiful place.”
Dorothy Zapata has been a KSQM Announcer since 2008, and is heard every Thursday and Friday afternoons at Noon.
“Dorothy’s Doo-Wop Drive-In” is heard on KSQM every Saturday afternoon at 4PM and Tuesday evening at 9PM…and can now be heard on McNeese University Radio KBYS 88.3FM, Lake Charles, LA (www.kbys.fm).
