County Amy Lynn: "I retired to Sequim in 2017 from Southern California. I've spent most of my time working in the construction field. My dad was an announcer for Armed Forces Radio and that's where I got my love for radio. I love country and bluegrass music. On a side note, I also have a passion for trains and moose. My husband, Papa Jim, and I have known each other since age 10. We have 2 beautiful daughters and 4 grandchildren. I totally love volunteering at KSQM. It was so much fun to be involved with helping to create the beautiful facility that we are in now and also working as an announcer with wonderful people. I look forward to entertaining you in a country/bluegrass way."
Announcer, Radio Room Engineer, Music Programming Hi there, I'm "Wild" Bill Hegarty. I am generally found in the KSQM broadcast booth on Sundays mornings (7-9) and Wednesday evenings (6-9). I also fill in at other times when needed.
I enjoy a fairly wide range of music, both instrumental and vocal. On my watch you will hear Big Band music, marches, popular music from the 1920's thru the 60's, Viennese waltzes, jazz, folk, music from Broadway and Hollywood productions, and music generally described as Easy Listening.
I grew up in Kansas City, attended University of Kansas, and have lived on the west coast for some 50+ years.
A resident of Sequim since 2003, I have been a KSQM volunteer since 2009.
Enjoy life! Join Bud Davies every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to Noon.
He'll grace you with "Deep Thoughts" and delightful music.
Dick Goodman is a gentleman and a scholar...(or is that a geranium and a schooner?) Can't say for sure. Tune in Muffin Mondays and Fritter Fridays from Nine to Noon. And don't forget the maple syrup.
Douglas Furr
Host, Notes by Northwest
Douglas is a “boomerang” Washingtonian, having lived in Issaquah, just east of Seattle, 20 years ago, and a recent transplant to Sunny Sequim. He started his journalism career in high school and gives credit to his 10th grade English teacher for the love of the word (despite the fact she forced her students to read Faulkner). He wrote for the high school newspaper, was on staff of the Daily Texan, the student newspaper of the University of Texas, and has spent his career in advertising, marketing and business consulting roles for national and international companies, including as COO of one firm.
He has been the editor of a national professional organization magazine, the executive producer of two business programs on television, on the advisory board of a large metro area public radio station, and a contributor to public broadcasting his entire adult life. Today he’s also a regular columnist for national professional services magazine.
Douglas’ love of music and the radio goes back to his early youth, where he and his father would listen to the radio on long car trips. He passed on a similar love of music to his eldest son, who could name all the Beatles and the Rolling Stones by the time he was 5, thanks to FM radio.
Today that son, the clever one, is a musician and producer in Los Angeles.
His other son, the smart one, attends college out of state but expects to do his graduate work at the University of Washington.
And sorry ladies, Douglas has been happily married for more than 25 years.
The variety of music on Notes by Northwest reflects Douglas’ love of the region and an eclectic taste in music including early rock, blues, country roots, alternative rock, and modern rock.
That’s the spectrum you’ll hear on NOTES by NORTHWEST, every Thursday at 6PM (Pacific Northwest Time).
Florence Larsen has been a KSQM volunteer since 2010. You can listen and laugh with Florence every Saturday from Noon 3 PMon the "Go with Flo" show. Florence is also Producer of the KSQM Garden Show, and a retired Clallam County Master Gardener. The Garden show is heard on KSQM Tuesday mornings at 11:40 and Friday evenings at 6:40.
